Fares & Tickets

We are a low-cost bus company and always keep our fares in check to make sure we’re giving you the best possible value.

We do not currently maintain a comprehensive list of fares on our web site, but details of the various tickets available to you are outlined below. If you need information about the cost (or times) of a specific journey, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and a member of our team will be glad to help:

email us at busstation@westerngreyhound.com
or call our helpline on 01637 871 871
lines open 0700-1900 Mondays to Saturdays and 0930-1730 on Sundays

You can buy all our tickets, except season tickets, from the driver when you get on the bus. If you can pay the correct fare, that is always helpful, but do not worry if you are not able, or do not know the fare as the driver will usually have change to help you. Please tell the driver your destination clearly, whether you want a single or return ticket, and if you are a child or an adult. We regret that incorrectly requested tickets cannot be refunded by the driver. We respectfully remind younger passengers that the onus of proof that you are entitled to a child’s fare is on you and not the driver.

We have a selection of tickets:

Single (One Way) Tickets
If you are just making one single journey, ask the driver for a "Single ticket" to where you are going.
Day Return Tickets
If you are travelling anywhere and coming back on the same day, buy a Day return which gives you a substantial discount on the cost of two single tickets.
Children
You can get about one-quarter off all adult fares by asking for a "Child Single" or "Child Return". You need to be aged from 5 to 15, though and it is up to you to prove your age to the driver if you look older. We do not refund any fares afterwards if there is any doubt as to age at the time of boarding, or if you do not request a Childs fare.
Families
Take the children with you and make huge savings! Families of up to 5 people, of whom no more than two may be adults, can travel for just twice the Adult fare. Just ask the driver for a "Family Single" or "Family Return".
Day Explorer Tickets

Our great value Day Explorer ticket gives you unlimited travel on our entire bus network and you can also use it on Stagecoach Devon buses. Go where you like, when you like, change buses as often as you like - buy it anytime from the driver! To view the map of where we run, click here.

£8.50 Adult, £5.50 Child or £17 Family
(up to 5 people but no more than 2 adults)

Weekly Tickets

Make fantastic savings with a weekly ticket!

Season Tickets
If you are travelling regularly between two places, you can make huge savings by buying a Season ticket. A season ticket is the only ticket that you cannot but from the bus driver. To get one, ring us or e-mail for a quotation and we will require a passport-style photograph. Seasons can last for 3, 6 or 12 months. If you know your fare, click here and you can see the savings that you can make.
Through Ticket
On certain routes, you can buy a through ticket onto the next bus. Please ask the driver who will tell you if this is possible.
Concessionary Pass Holders
The National Bus Concession Scheme gives all pass holders free off-peak bus travel on our buses. All you need to do is to show your Concessionary Pass to the driver as you board the bus, and tell them where you are going. You must always show your pass please - do not hide it away and expect the driver to ask you for it!

Off-peak times are between the hours of 09:30 and 23:00 on Mondays to Fridays, and at any time of the day on weekends and Bank Holidays.

All holders of the National Bus Concessionary passes are entitled to travel for free on the Park and Ride service in Truro. A ticket (which is free) must be obtained from the machine at the Park and Ride site at Threemilestone, and be presented to the driver along with the Concessionary pass.

If you are over 60, or have certain disabilities, get yours now and start travelling totally free. For a printable application form, visit the Cornwall Council website - http://www.cornwallpublictransport.info/gen_senior.asp
