About Western Greyhound

Western Greyhound has recently received the following awards:

ukbus

Independent Operator of the Year at the UK Bus Awards 2008At the thirteenth annual UK Bus Awards, Western Greyhound was awarded the title of UK Operator of the Year 2008, perhaps the premier standard of quality and achievement recognition available in the industry today. Having faced stiff competition nationwide, particularly from Konnectbus in Norfolk (who won the title last year) Western Greyhound sustained the scrutiny of industry judges and was presented with the award at a glitzy ceremony in London attended by top bus service movers and shakers. Several judges acting as "mystery travellers" had examined the day-to-day customer experience of the service in intensive detail, as well as taking into account broader issues of coverage, passenger growth and prospective development. The panel were particularly impressed with the recent success of the Park for Truro (park and ride) contract and evidence of major investment in improved vehicle accessibility with eight brand new low floor buses purchased and due to be introduced in West Cornwall shortly. This is the third time that Western Greyhound has won the award in four years, and it was highly commended runner up in the other year.

Medium Operator of the Year at the RouteOne Operator Excellence Awards 2008
Western Greyhound has also been successful at the RouteOne Operator Excellence Awards. The competition, run by industry magazine, RouteOne, exists to recognise excellence throughout the bus and coach industry. Citing financial performance and passenger growth as key measures, the judges awarded Western Greyhound the title of Medium UK Bus Operator of the Year stating that it evidently "excelled in both". In further praise of the company, the panel noted that "its core values are reliability and quality in partnership with its stakeholders to improve the perception of its own operation and bus travel generally". All honours were presented by RouteOne Editor Mike Morgan, comedian Jimmy Tarbuck and individual sponsors at the fourth annual awards ceremony in Coventry.

Western Greyhound is also a member of the following organisations:

NCCT

Newquay Chamber of Commerce and Tourism (NCCT)
The NCCT helps distinguish those businesses and organisations that are involved in providing services to visitors to the area. This is a quality standard and you can be assured that wherever you see this logo you will be receiving a service where quality is paramount.

CPT

Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT)
The CPT is the voice of the passenger transport industry and is officially recognised by the government. It is also the principal consultative body on national, local and EU legislative and regulatory matters. It provides the main link with the media and is regularly approached for opinion and comment. This hallmark is a sign of quality and is internationally recognised.
